“Giving birth to a child will complete you.”

An age-old belief that is fed to us by society. We are made to believe that childbearing is the primary goal of marriage, & women are expected to give birth to a child shortly after they are married.

I honestly believe that parenthood is a sacred calling. No one should become a parent unless (s)he is willing – if not eage—to keep the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of a child as his/her first priority in life, until that child is ready to become independent.

Today, there are many couples in our society who are happily choosing to not become parents ever in their life.
A couple where both the Individuals are earning & have no children are known as DINK (Double Income No Kids) Couples.

The reason for opting for this different route varies from couple to couple but this social trend is witnessing an upward growth.

With nuclear families coming into existence, these couples are driven towards achieving maximum success in their careers and their journeys to build comfortable livelihoods in fast-paced urban societies. As such, they are unable to look after their aging parents nor have time to consider having children.

Many others are not willing to give up their present lifestyle and the ‘freedom’ of being not responsible for the well-being of the third member of their family.

The reasons for going child-free are not limited to financial constraints, a high level of responsibility, or lack of family support.

Ensuring the safety of the child and rising pollution levels, as well as the increase in the number of crimes in the world, is also the key reasons behind becoming a DINK (Double Income No Kids) couple.
